Hicks Bar-B-Que Company, a staple on the Belleville barbecue restaurant scene for more than 13 years, has announced it will close on Nov. 1 due in part to the coronavirus pandemic.

“It is with a heavy heart that Hicks BBQ will be closing for good on November 1,” the restaurant said on its Facebook page.

“We appreciate all our loyal and loving customers but due to the pandemic and economic situations we will close indefinitely.”

A representative from the restaurant could not be reached for additional information on Tuesday.

The restaurant is located at 609 S. Illinois St. For the next two weeks, the hours will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday to Sunday with only drive-thru service.
