Small brewery planned for Belleville, plus other downtown business developments
So there’s been some shuffling of businesses in downtown Belleville lately, in case you didn’t already know.
The first is Shoehorn Brewing, which had worked with Down the Hall Homebrew at 122 E. Main St., will open a small brewery this year.
The brewery will soon have its new base of operations up and running to bring us all small batches of beer in many varieties: stouts (heck yeah!), pilsners, browns, NEIPAs (that’s New England India Pale Ale, if you didn’t know) and more.
The folks at Shoehorn have been working on the building at 225 E. Main St., where Turned Treasures Gallery used to operate. The progress continues, and you can see it via photos on their Facebook page. They anticipate opening early this year.
As for their relationship with Down the Hall Homebrew, why mess with a good thing? Down the Hall has also moved to 225 E. Main St. and is currently operating while Shoehorn continues with their buildout.
Down the Hall Homebrew is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. They are closed Sunday and Monday. For information, call 618-277-2550, visit downthehallhomebrew.com or find them on Facebook.
Down the Hall’s former shop space at 122 E. Main won’t be empty for long.
Weave & Wobble, currently located in the Shoppes at the Olde Towne Mall at 310 E. Main, will soon make the move to occupy the space at 122 E. Main St.
This business focuses on weaving, fiber, pottery and more. It offers classes, specialty yarns and handmade items for purchase, according to its social media.

For now, check out the wares and available classes at 310 E. Main St. Hours are 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
