Vote for your favorite Mexican restaurant in southwest IL. Here are the leaders so far
Our Mexican restaurant poll has been up since early Monday morning, and with just under a day and a half left to vote in the first round, here’s an update for those of you keeping track.
Leading the poll is Mariachi’s with 121 votes. With locations in Belleville, Maryville and Millstadt, I’m surprised we aren’t seeing higher numbers here.
Currently in second place is Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, which also has a location in Belleville (two, actually) as well as in New Baden. They have 108 votes, for now.
The rest of the current top eight places are Casa Azteca (108), La Casa Mexicana (106), Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant (101), Casa Maria Mexican Grill (100) , El Gordito (95) and Tres Caminos Mexican Restaurant (90).
In the bottom half of the bracket are Tequila Mexican Restaurant (84), Ramon’s El Dorado (76), Rio Grande MX Cocina (72), Tienda El Ranchito (56), Casa Romero Mexican Restaurant (56), Agavero Grill & Cantina (50), Mexico Tipico (38) and Camino Real (35).
The line between the top and bottom eight is a thin one. And some would have to see a voting surge in their favor if they want to advance to the next round.
Tell your family and friends about the poll. Heck, tell total strangers, because at the very least, who doesn’t like a great taco/enchilada/salsa/margarita?
Round One ends at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, March 16. Then we’ll see who makes Round Two.
