A new food truck park that’s part of Downtown Alton’s revitalization project opens this week.

Flock, which will offer “locally sourced culinary treats for the entire family,” opens at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, according to a press release.

The food truck park will host up to six different food trucks for lunch and dinner during the week and on Saturdays, stated the release.

Flock is a collaboration between restaurateurs Laura and Matt Windisch of Stacked Burger Bar and AltonWorks, which is a social impact redevelopment company founded by Jayne and John Simmons of Alton.

“We want to support local businesses and offer a fun, safe and happy place for people to gather,” Jayne Simmons stated in the release.

The space around Flock will be developed into an outdoor park.

Live music will be featured on Friday nights, and Sunday hours will be set this summer.

The Bar at Flock will serve cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine.
