Where are the best go-to places for doughnuts in southwest IL? Tell us your favorites

BND Donut Poll header

I haven’t had a doughnut since 2016 (not that my waistline is complaining).

The only reason I remember this is because it was during my last trip to Chicago. We – the husband and I – stopped at a bakery known for offering vegan doughnuts just so I could get one.

And it was awesome.

While there are vegan doughnuts to be had in our area, I just haven’t made the effort to seek them out. (Again, my waistline thanks me for this.)

I’m very aware there are also plenty of amazing non-vegan doughnuts to be had in our area.

If you’re wondering where I’m going with this, I’m bringing it up because it’s time for me to launch another of my online food polls.

To get us started, I’m asking you to share what area business you think makes the best doughnuts around.

I can’t promise that all of the places nominated will make the cut. However, I will take the top most-named places – I’m hoping for a baker’s dozen – to be voted on in an upcoming poll.

But before you can name your go-to doughnut place, please verify that you’re a real person by typing “yes” in the validation part of the form below.

You have through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, to make your nominations, which can be done more than once if you wish. (Refresh the page. And no, it isn’t cheating.)

Keep in mind that this unscientific poll, like all of the others, is just for fun.

Questions and feedback are welcome. Just send an email to newsroom@bnd.com with the subject heading “Best Donut.”
