A well-known food truck in Edwardsville is getting some permanent new digs.

Sneaky’s Burger Truck will soon reside at 307 N. Main St. in Edwardsville, the current site of Recess Brewing.

For the last year, Sneaky’s served as the resident food truck for Recess on Friday and Saturday nights, according to a press release.

Effective May 2, Sneaky’s will take over the location and relaunch as Sneaky’s Bar and Burger Joint.

“When I was 14, opening a business on Main Street in Edwardsville was the pinnacle,” stated Sneaky’s co-owner and chef Tyler Ottwein in the release.

“I went around the Midwest and the South and I worked all these other places and learned all the skills … and now here we are: opening a business on Main Street downtown Edwardsville. That’s pretty special.”

Ottwein owns and operates the business with Casey Hinman, bringing 25 years of combined kitchen and restaurant management experience to Edwardsville.

“The duo collaborated at various restaurants, all along in shared pursuit of crafting the perfect burger,” stated the release.

Sneaky’s will serve 75-80 different cans/bottles of craft beer, rotating drafts, wine and cocktails.

There will also be an expanded menu of 100% Wagyu beef burgers (with Impossible patty substitutes), a variety of tots, soft pretzels and fried candy bars.

Recess Brewing closes its doors on Sunday, April 30, according to a Facebook announcement earlier this month.

Recess’s former brew master Tracy Hutton opened a new operation, Mississippi Culture, in Staunton. The grand opening was held April 22, according to the social media post.

Ottwein and Hinman worked with Recess’s former owner and building manager Jay Beard to “inherit the building’s legacy” and grow their business, stated the release.

Sneaky’s Bar and Burger Joint is located at 307 N. Main St., Edwardsville.

Hours will be 4-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
