Healthy meals for all lifestyles are available at this new Belleville restaurant
Like many others, I am a busy person.
So when I’m writing away or out reporting a story, it’s sometimes hard to fit in lunch.
I don’t always want to hit a fast food drive-thru (although those veggie White Castle sliders aren’t half bad). I certainly don’t want to do it every day.
Belleville has a great new option for people on the go and people who want to go with something healthier for them.
Clean Eatz is located at 2525 Green Mount Commons Drive, Suite 280, in the same plaza as the Walmart, Lowe’s and a variety of other stores and restaurants.
Open since late March, Clean Eatz held a ribbon-cutting celebration this week.
The staff’s mission is to help people live a healthier lifestyle, according to general manager Elijah Switzer.
Clean Eatz offers healthy breakfast and lunch options for multiple lifestyles, including keto, high-protein and low-carb. Menu items can be adjusted to accommodate vegetarians and vegans.
In addition to offering different types of food, Switzer said they also weigh the meals, ensuring the proper portions are provided. This is a great way for people to learn about portion control and get people back to amounts they should be eating, Switzer said.
Clean Eatz offers burgerz, wrapz, flatbreadz, smoothiez — yes, they spell everything with a “z” — meltz, snackz, sidez and muscle-building and build-your-own bowl optionz … uh ... I mean options.
Customers can place an order in the café, pick up a frozen grab-and-go item, and sign up for a meal plan. Online ordering and catering are also available.
Clean Eatz in Belleville is owned by Sara Sanderson, who also owns a location at 316 S. Buchanan St. in Edwardsville.
The business is part of a franchise that was founded in 2011 in North Carolina by Don and Evonne Varady. The brand’s franchise program started in 2015.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m .Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
