Shoehorn Brewing partners with Belleville bistro so you can have food with your beer

Things have been busy at Shoehorn Brewing in downtown Belleville.

The small brewery recently collaborated with LongStory Coffee to create a new coffee blonde ale – LoveStory – which was released earlier this month.

Now Shoehorn has a delicious new partnership with its neighbor, Grüv Bistro & Wine Bar.

Starting this week, customers at Shoehorn can place food orders with Grüv for delivery, without having to leave their beer.

The new partnership came about over the last couple of weeks, said Shoehorn Brewing co-owner Mike Johnson.

It’s one of the ways Johnson and business partner Jeremy Hall are able to bring food to their customers.

Menus are available at the tables at Shoehorn, and via a QR code, folks can order sharable fare, pizza, salads, handheld vittles and desserts.

And the staff at Grüv will bring your order to your table.

Sounds pretty good to me!

What’s on the menu

While the Grüv menu offered at Shoehorn is limited, there are still many options.

Here’s what’s available:

  • Sharables:

    • Charcuterie Board with cheeses and meats served with kalamata olives, fruit, crackers, nuts, pita bread, pickles and basil spread;

    • Spinach Dip topped with parmesan and tomatoes and served with ciabatta and pita breads;

    • Groovy Bruschetta – toasted ciabatta with pesto sauce, mozzarella, tomatoes, basil and a balsamic glaze;

  • Pizzas: Margherita, Chicken Bacon Ranch, Wild Mushroom, Short Rib, Pear Prosciutto and the Carnivore;

  • Handhelds: Prime Rib Sandwich, Chicken Avocado BLT and Burnt End Tacos;

  • Greens: Strawberry Goat Salad and Greek Salad

  • Sweets (the best part): Chocolate Lover’s Cake, Tiramisu, Red Velvet Cheesecake and Caramel Cheesecake.

Shoehorn customers can order from the Grüv menu 4-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 4-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

Orders can be placed by scanning the QR code on the menu or by calling 618-416-2471.

As for how long this delicious food-ordering option is available, Johnson said, “We’ll see how it goes.”

He doesn’t want to overwhelm the kitchen or staff at Grüv and will have to wait and see what happens.

Grüv Bistro & Wine Bar owner Kierra Hennings was not immediately available for comment.

Grüv is located at 223 E. Main St. in Belleville. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 4-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
