New buffet restaurant to open this year at former Golden Corral site in Collinsville
A former Golden Corral location in Collinsville will soon open as a Chinese restaurant and buffet.
Renovations are underway for Jade Buffet, located at 1079 Collinsville Crossing Blvd.., according to Community Development Director Travis Taylor.
Taylor said the restaurant’s owner previously approached the city about opening the restaurant in the former all-you-can-eat Golden Corral buffet restaurant, which closed in spring 2022.
In a brief phone interview, Min Wen Lu, who handles the business for owner Zhi Wang, said that renovations to the 7,703-square-foot building include painting, new flooring, changes to the buffet line and the addition of a sushi counter.
Based on recent photos posted to The Collinsville Connection Facebook page, the new sign for Jade Buffet was installed this week.
Lu said that unless there are construction delays or issues with passing city inspections, Jade Buffet will likely open in late August.
There is currently a Jade Buffet in Centralia.
