It’s finally here, that time of year when the weather is warmer and the sun shines longer. More time is spent out and about, walking and hiking, biking, planting and shopping those farmers markets.

Here’s a list of area farmers markets getting ready to kick off for the season, along with locations and operating hours.

Alton Farmers & Artisans Market — 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays starting May 9. Corner of Landmarks Boulevard and Henry Street, Alton.
