Two new eateries to open in east Belleville this summer
Two new businesses are slated to open this summer in east Belleville as building construction nears completion.
Moe’s Southwest Grill and Café Coffee Greens will open July 10 at 107 Lincoln Place Court, a development off of Carlyle Avenue.
Ajay Kalra, who co-owns the property with wife Ritu Gupta under Primrose Realty LLC, said in a phone interview that the fast-casual Moe’s will be run by a franchisee based in Springfield.
Moe’s Southwest Grill in Belleville is the second metro-east location for the franchise. The first opened at 2329 Plum St., Unit 100, in Edwardsville in September 2023.
It specializes in fresh, customized, made-to-order, Mexican fare. For more info, visit moes.com.
Café Coffee Greens is a small, family-owned business that will be run by Gupta, according to Kalra.
He said the café will bring something different to the community, which already has coffee chains like Starbucks at Southwestern Illinois College and two others coming soon: Dutch Bros. Coffee on Carlyle Avenue in Belleville and Scooter’s Coffee on North Green Mount Road in Shiloh.
The new café will provide a food and beverage menu with some locally-produced items. Coffee will come from Proving Ground in Columbia. Proving Ground will also bring some of its sandwiches and salads to Belleville, Kalra said.
Café Coffee Greens will also feature Italian gelato from a Glendale, Arizona-based company, Villa Dolce. The Italian family-owned company produces artisanal gelato and sorbetto for food service channels nationwide.
The café will have a drive-thru as well as a small dine-in area.
