Recipe of the Day: Chinese takeout from home
SLOW COOKER SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN
1 pound skinless chicken breasts, cubed
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
2 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 white onion, sliced
3-4 tablespoons cornstarch
Mix brown sugar, water, vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce and sliced onion in a small bowl.
Mix cornstarch with just enough water to form a paste and add it to the sauce mixture, mixing well.
Place cubed chicken in the slow cooker and pour sauce mixture over chicken.
Cook in the slow cooker on low for 3-4 hours, or until done.
Serve over cooked rice. Serves 3.
