Get free vaccinations for your pet at Community Pet Day
The animal rescue group Gateway Pet Guardians is hosting Community Pet Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in Jones Park, 2920 Argonne Drive, East St. Louis.
One hundred free rabies and distemper/parvo shots will be given to keep area pets healthy. The clinic serves residents in ZIP codes 62201, 62203, 62204, 62205, 62206 and 62207 only.
In a press release, Janet Roberts, a Gateway Pet Guardians volunteer, said: “The nearest veterinarian office is 15-20 minutes away, and many residents don’t have transportation or the funds to afford shots. So, we bring that resource to them for free.”
The mission of the Gateway Pet Guardians is to provide pet owners in the metro-east with the resources they need to help their pets live a long, happy and healthy life.
