Blessed to Give: Gateway Pet Guardians

Gateway Pet Guardians, a St. Louis-based nonprofit animal shelter, works to end homelessness for stray dogs and cats in East St. Louis. The shelter rescues animals, provides food to homeless animals and to low-income dog owners, provides foster homes, reduced cost veterinarian care such as spay and neuter services, and adoptive services among other things.

How to help

People may donate through the organization’s website at www.gatewaypets.com. People can become a foster pet guardian or may volunteer at the organization’s shelter, at fundraising events or by picking up and dropping off animals.
