Blessed to Give: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Illinois
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois provides one-to-one mentoring to about 1,000 youngsters facing adversity in St. Clair, Madison, Clinton and Monroe counties.
How to help
Volunteers are needed to be a “big brother” or “big sister” to one of the roughly 100 boys and girls on a waiting list for a mentor. Volunteers spend a few hours a month with a youth. Mentors can play sports with a youngster, go out to dinner or lunch, or do other activities. Monetary contributions are welcomed and will be used to help recruit, screen, train and match mentors with waiting youth. People also can volunteer in the Big Brothers Big Sisters office with data entry, shredding and other office work.
