This week’s BND Pet of the Week is Macks, an 8-year-old Labrador.

Most dogs are full of energy and are very active, but Macks is the perfect combination of mild-mannered and active. If you want a pet that’s laid back at times but has the energy to run around with you, then Macks is a good choice.

Macks is mostly a couch potato and can be the perfect movie buddy or even a good office dog for those pet-friendly businesses. He would make a great pet for anyone who takes it easy during the week and gets out on the weekends.

Sporting a jet black coat and face, Macks would be a handsome addition to any family. He was reluctantly brought to the Belleville Area Humane Society after his previous owners moved and were unable to find him an alternative home.

Macks is well-mannered and does well with children, women and men. He has gotten along with other animals, but would be great for a family where he is the only pet. Macks knows a few tricks and will sit and shake on command. He might even lay down — if you offer him a treat.

Macks’ daily routine consists of a quick sniff here and there to gain some new information, followed by stretching, finding a good resting place and finally napping.

Macks is always ready for a long walk and has no problems being on a leash. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots.
