Staying Home Alone class

Memorial Hospital East is hosting a Staying Home Alone class for families to better prepare children to stay home alone. It will be presented by Children’s Hospital Educators from 9 to 10:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Memorial Hospital East’s Community Conference Center, 1404 Cross St. in Shiloh. The cost is $25. Kennel Club dog show

Edwardsville Illinois Kennel Club will hold its annual all-breed dog show on Dec. 3 and 4 under the auspices of the American Kennel Club at Belle-Clair Exposition Center, 200 South Belt East in Belleville. Open to the public. Admission and parking free. Vendors will sell canine merchandise. On Dec. 2, the Gateway Non-Sporting Dog Club will also hold a show at the same venue. Toys for Tots collection

Electronics recycling day

People can drop off their unwanted electronics from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3 on the east parking lot of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in O’Fallon. Computer towers, electronic motors, keyboards, speakers, modems, cables, DVD and VHS players, floppy drives, battery backups and printers, as well as small appliances with a power cord, will be accepted for free.
