Blue Christmas program

O’Fallon First United Methodist Church, 504 E. Highway 50 in O’Fallon, is offering a program called “Blue Christmas: Tidings of Comfort and Joy” at 4 p.m. Dec. 11. It’s designed for people who are having trouble feeling joy this holiday season because of losses in their lives and who are willing to support and encourage others in similar situations. The Bethlehem Journey

Grace Church in Fairview Heights has created an outdoor walking trail through the time of Bethlehem during Jesus' birth.

The Bethlehem Journey runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Dec 3 and 4. The free walk is about 45 minutes, so dress for the weather. Handicapped accessible. Hot chocolate, coffee and homemade cookies afterward.

Church shopping fair

Peace Lutheran Church in Belleville will host its annual Shopping Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 10. There will be craft and other vendor booths and a raffle. Grief support group

Belleville First United Presbyterian’s Grief Support Group offers a 13-week, faith-based program for people who have lost loved ones and want to join with others experiencing the same feelings and emotions. Session themes are “comfort,” “answers” and “hope.” Sessions will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sundays, beginning Dec. 4. Light snacks provided. No registration necessary.
