Pentecostal family event

The Pentecostals of Troy will have, “Kid-A-Palooza” with Phil Wagoner on two evenings at 7 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, May 24-25, at 8965 Illinois Route 162, Troy. The event will feature games, singing and a narrated Bible story throughout. Information: www.pentecostalsoftroy.org.

150th anniversary of Buck Road Cemetery

The annual Memorial Day Service and 150th anniversary of Buck Road Cemetery’s founding will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at the cemetery off of Route 162, Maryville. The Glen Carbon Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 435 will officiate a service in honor of Henry Ostendorf, the first soldier from Madison County who was killed in World War I. He is buried at Buck Road. Michael C. Kovarik, the president of the Buck Road Cemetery Association, will be the guest speaker. The public is invited to the remembrance.
