Optimist Club of Belleville

The next meeting of the Optimist Club will take place at noon Tuesday, July 25, at Bellecourt Place, 120 N. Jackson St., Belleville. The speaker will be Kathy Mordini of Avenue Reality Association.

Alzheimer’s Association ‘In the Moment’ support group

“In the Moment” will meet from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Arbor Court Activity Center, Oak Hill, 623 Hamacher, Waterloo. Amy Rohlfing will speak on, “Drugs and Dementia: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” She will cover medications that can help with dementia or possibly increase symptoms. Refreshments will be served. Silver Creek Quail Forever

The Quail Club will have a hunter safety course from 5-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Damiansville school gym, 101 E. Main St., Damiansville. Participants younger than 10 must have an adult accompany them throughout the course. This program includes a minimum of 10 hours of instruction. It will cover topics such as hunter responsibility and ethics, tree stand safety, firearms and ammunition, field safety, first aid, bowhunting, muzzleloading, wildlife conservation and identification and state regulations.
