Heat prompts change to Swansea Farmers’ Market

The Swansea Farmers’ Market will be open Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., said founder Norm Geolat. The change, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., is to avoid some of the high temperatures in the afternoons.

“Nobody shows up after 2 anyway,” he said.

The Swansea Farmers’ Market is at the Rural King parking lot at 2801 N. Illinois St. on Thursdays through October.

The Swansea Farmers’ Market is a not-for-profit and is managed by volunteers.
