Donations are needed for WSIU’s vinyl sale
Radio station seeking donations for vinyl sale
WSIU Public Broadcasting, the radio station of the College of Mass Communication and Media Arts at SIUC, is seeking donations for its 10th Annual Classic Vinyl Sale that will take place Sept. 22-23 at the SIUC Student Center Ballrooms. Gently used stereo equipment, record albums, CDs, DVDs, cassettes and electronic games may be donated at all Southern Illinois branches of the SIU Credit Union, Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce in Mt. Vernon, and the Morris Library on the SIU Carbondale campus until Sept. 12. National Alliance on Mental Illness classes coming soon
NAMI of Southwestern Illinois, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving quality of life for people with mental illness, will offer two different education classes beginning in Sept. 2017.
▪ NAMI Basics Education Class: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville. This free class will meet for 6 consecutive weekly sessions. The course is designed for parents and caregivers of youths with a mental health condition. Information: 618-798-9788 or info@namiswi.org.
▪ NAMI’s Family-to-Family Education Program: 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, in Edwardsville. There is no fee to attend. The class will meet for 12 consecutive weeks. This program provides evidence based information about mental illness, treatment options, community based resources and more. Information: 618-798-9788 or info@namiswi.org.
