Polish American Ladies Society
The next meeting of PALS will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Caseyville Township Building, 10001 Bunkum Road. The theme is “Oktoberfest: Wear your dirndl.” Lunch is brown bag with dessert and beverages provided by the September hostesses. Bring items or monetary donation for the food pantry. There will also be a special collection for Partner’s for Pets. Bring a picture or story about your pet.
Illinois Trekkers Volkssport Club

St. Clair County Garden Club
The St. Clair County Garden Club will have a meeting at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Blazier House, 8501 W. Main St., Belleville. The cost is $13. The main program is: “Bulbs, Corms and All Their Cousins,” by Lisa Dean, master gardener, University of Illinois extension. The meeting will include more presentations by Laura Tourigny, Lynn Foster, Ann Klemm, Sue Beach and Connie Morris. The reservation deadline for this meeting is Sept. 2. O’Fallon Garden Club
The next meeting of the O’Fallon Garden Club is 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Rock Springs Park, 1428 E. 3rd St., O’Fallon. The program will be: “Gardening the Saber’s Way,” a different look at planting and growing. This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Girl Scout Gold Award project garden tours
Elementary-aged Girl Scouts are invited to the O’Fallon Community Garden at the corner of Smiley and State Street from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, and noon-1:30 p.m., 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3. O’Fallon Township High School graduate, Victoria Birchem, will lead tours of the community garden in order to earn her Girl Scout Gold Award for the project, “Nomenclature for Nature.”
International Women’s Organization
The next meeting of the International Women’s Organization will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Community Room, Eden Village, 200 S. Station Road, Glen Carbon. The speaker will be Jeannie Dinning, Speech Center Coordinator at SIUE and lecturer of career development and remedial reading. The topic will be: “How to Recognize Historical Arts and Cultures.”
St. Clair County Genealogical Society
The genealogical society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at St. Luke’s Parish Center, 226 N. Church St., Belleville. Erin Lasley, Scott Air Force Base historian will present, “History of Scott Air Force Base.” The program is free and open to the public. Information: www.stclair-ilgs.org or their Facebook page.
