St. Clair Woman’s Club

The first meeting and luncheon for the 2017-2018 year of the St. Clair Woman’s Club will be at noon Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Bellecourt Place, 120 Jackson St., Belleville. The theme is: “New Beginnings and Ideas.”

National Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1019

The next meeting of NARFE will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Golden Corral, 3360 Green Mount Crossing Road, Shiloh. The buffet opens at 11 a.m. and the meeting begins at noon. Donald Maldonado of Blue Cross/Blue Shield will share the latest information on 2018 insurance rates and benefits. Guests are always welcome.

PSOP Book Club

The PSOP Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at 201 N. Church St., Belleville. The title for this month’s meeting is: “Out of the Easy” by Ruta Sepetys. The discussion will be led by Eileen Cartwright.

Collinsville Chamber of Commerce

The Collinsville Chamber will have “The Breakfast Club: Speed Networking over Breakfast” from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Ravanelli’s Restaurant, 26 Collinsport, Collinsville. Come for coffee and friends.

St. Clair County Genealogical Society

Teri Bromley, the St. Clair County Genealogical Society’s cemetery and church records chairman, will be available to answer genealogy research questions from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Belleville Public Library, 121 E. Washington St., Belleville. Information: www.stclair-ilgs.org.

Madison County Genealogical Society

The next meeting of the Genealogical Society will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Edwardsville Public Library, 112 S. Kansas St. Ann Barnett Gillham of Chouteau Township will share her life story as an early settler at the meeting. Guests are always welcome.

Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois

The Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois will have its 2017 Nut, Candy and Magazine Product Program until Oct. 21. This fundraiser supports troop activities and gives them hands-on experience with leadership and financial literacy.
