Swansea Cozy Winter Wonderland — Through Thursday, Dec. 23. Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and 5-8 p.m. Monday-Friday. 1501 Caseyville Ave., Swansea. Visit and take photos with Santa, take photos at one of the indoor settings. Each child will receive a gift, candy cane and ornament from Santa’s tree. Parade will begin at Wolf Branch Middle School and travel up Old Caseyville to Baron Drive to Heatherwood, to Green Haven, to Big Bend, to Twin Lake and end at the firehouse. Exhibition: Towata: A Celebration of Art Opening Reception — 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3. Simmons Hanly Conroy Gallery, Jacoby Arts Center, 627 E. Broadway, Alton. Arthur Towata lived and worked in Alton for more than 65 years. He owned the Towata Gallery at 206 W. 3rd St. and Towata Studio on 603 Piasa St., where he continued teaching and showcased other artists and their artwork. All person’s age 17 and up (or 16 with a signed parental permission form) who weigh at least 110 lbs. and are in general good health meet the basic eligibility requirements for blood donation. Tracie Renschen, who has a Masters in Kinesiology, (the study of mechanics of body movement) leads this exercise class to focus on strengthening the various muscles of the body, helping with balance and arthritis.
