From a 40,000-egg hunt to zoo animals, check out these metro-east Easter festivities
Planning to take your child to an Easter egg hunt this year? Here are a few upcoming events in the metro-east, including an option offering bottomless mimosas and how to watch zoo animals search for eggs.
Eckert’s Easter Egg-citement
Eckert’s farm is hosting Easter events April 15 and 16. The participation fee is $15 per child, and the event includes an egg hunt, a tractor ride, a petting zoo, icing a cookie, planting a seed to take home and a photo with a gift from the bunny.

Gateway Grizzlies Easter Egg Hunt
Children from ages 1 to 12 can search for eggs at 9 a.m. April 16 at GCS Credit Union Ballpark. The event is free, and registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
Interactive activities, including an appearance by Izzy the Grizzlie, will be available. Gateway Grizzlie season ticketholders are encouraged to pick up their tickets at this event.
First Baptist Church Columbia Easter egg hunt
FBCC is hosting an egg search from 10 a.m. to noon April 16.
The church is located at 1200 Valmeyer Road in Columbia, Ill.
Navigation Church Easter Egg Hunt
Navigation Church is throwing an Easter event in Collinsville from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 16. The free event will have 40,000 Easter eggs, inflatables, carnival games and lunch.
You can register online or onsite starting at 10 a.m. on event day. The person registering must be at least 18 years old and must check-in and be responsible for their guests at the event. Email church.office@navchurch.org with questions.
Easter Egg Hunt at Francis Park
Children up to eighth grade can join this free event near the playground area at 11 a.m. April 16.
Children up to third grade will gather eggs with candy and prize coupons, and fourth- to eighth-graders get an extended area with four gold eggs with $25 prizes in each egg.
Photo opportunities will be available, and there will be live bunnies to hold. Registration is not required.
Enrichment Eggstravaganza
Watch Saint Louis Zoo animals search for Easter eggs made out of papier-mâché, ice, gelatin and other food items April 16 and 17.
Free zoo reservations are required for this event, and there is also a digital scavenger hunt available for kids.
On April 16, a limited supply of Kinder Joy treats and toys will be given away, as the company is sponsoring the event. You can also take this Kinder Joy quiz to enter to win a free family membership to the zoo.
Easter Egg Hunt at Berra Park
This event is from noon to 1 p.m. April 17. It is located at The Hill’s Berra Park at 1825 Macklind Ave.
Brunch, Bubbles & Bunnies
Planning to be in downtown St. Louis this Easter? Check out this fancy brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 17 at Clark & Bourbon at Live! by Loews.
Adult tickets are $65 each and children are $19. Each ticket includes a brunch buffet, bottomless mimosas and bloody marys for the adults, access to a small petting zoo and an Easter egg scavenger hunt for the kids.
Kegs ‘N’ Eggs
An adults-only Easter event will be held April 23 at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival Grounds.
The eggs contain tickets to be redeemed for prizes, and rare golden eggs are filled with cash. There will be craft beer tastings, as well as games, contests and local food trucks.
The pre-party will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the main event is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participants must fill out a waiver online.
