Seed St. Louis Free Online Class: ‘Summer Pruning for Tree and Cane Fruits’ — 2-3 p.m. Thursday, July 14. Online via Zoom. In the summer, some fruiting plants benefit from pruning. Dean Gunderson, Director of Education at Seed St. Louis, will go over how to manage and maintain these plants in summer to keep them yielding for years to come. This class will contain the same information as the 6 p.m. class. A recording of this live virtual program will be posted to the St. Louis County Library YouTube channel within three business days. Seed St. Louis Free Online Class: ‘Summer Orchard Pruning and Growing Blackberries and Raspberries’ — 6-7 p.m. Thursday, July 14. Online via Zoom. Summer is a critical time to prune your apples, pears, blackberries, and raspberries. It is also the best time to prune your trees if you are trying to keep them smaller than they want to grow. Dean Gunderson, Director of Education at Seed St. Louis will cover how to do the summer pruning, how to safely shorten tree height, and how to grow blackberries and raspberries successfully in the St. Louis region. How Healthy is Your Heart Program — 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 19. Marine Senior Citizens Center, 101 W. Silver St., Marine. Professional, Delissa Dennison, Health Promotion Coordinator from Anderson Hospital will present the program addressing how to keep your heart healthy, numbers important to having a healthy heart you should know, and heart health problems such as heart attack, irregular heart rhythm, congestive failure, and other heart issues. ‘Strings Under the Stars’ — 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 20. Mid-Century Modern Architecture Museum, 8501 W. Main St., Belleville.
