Midwest Salute to the Arts returns to Fairview Heights this weekend. Here’s the schedule
Midwest Salute to the Arts returns to Moody Park this weekend for its 34th year of cool art, good eats, live tunes and a whole lot more.
And the fun starts Friday night.
The annual event will have something for everyone all weekend long. The festival takes place 6-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Friday

10-11:30 a.m. – Bill Pushe
10 a.m. to noon – Live Remote Broadcast: Bob Ramsey and Jim Heuer from 590 The Fan
Noon to 1:30 p.m. – Dusty James & Abalone Pearl
2-4 p.m. – Live Remote Broadcast: Billy Greenwood from KLOU 103.3
4-5:30 p.m. – Jay Dover
6-8 p.m. – Roots in Blue, one of two groups within the USAF Band of Mid-America
Sunday
11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Dave Mendoza
1:15-2:45 p.m. – Louis Michael
3:15-5 p.m. – Mark Biehl
Art & Craft Demonstrations
Demonstrations by members of Artisan Guild of Southern Illinois, the Gateway Artists Guild and the Midwest Woodcarvers will take place during festival hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Folks will be able to observe a variety of processes in different areas of art including potter, painters, jewelry designers, felters, paper makers, weavers and more. Feel free to ask the artists questions.

Children’s Gallery and Creation Station
The Children’s Gallery offers kids-only shopping. Kids can buy art without grown-ups nudging them toward something they like. The cost to enter the gallery is $10 and is intended for kids ages 5-13. Hours for the gallery are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Children’s Creation Station will have the same hours as the gallery. This year’s activities include IllinoiSouth Tourism Mural Painting, whirly gigs, pool noodle monsters, fun hats, tissue paper streamers, Raising Cane’s coloring pages and build a spine project.
