Christmas Tree Recycling — Through Sunday, Jan. 29. 1773 Twelfth Afternoon Ball — Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7. Gateway Arch Visitor Center, Gateway Arch, St. Louis. The Twelfth Afternoon Ball recognizes the completion of the Twelve Days of Christmas, which was a major celebration during St. Louis’ French colonial era. This year’s ball will highlight popular music and dances from 1773. The 1773 Twelfth Afternoon Ball will feature live music by talented singer and fiddler Dennis Stroughmatt, food demonstrations by esteemed culinary historian Suzanne Corbett, and dancing by living history interpreters dressed in authentic 1700s clothing.
