Take A Bow Showcase will combine singing, dancing, music, theater and comedy for a Renaissance-style show called “The Spirit of Christmas” Dec. 4, 5 and 6.

Guests will dine on a four-course gourmet meal while a cast of more than 50 people perform at the Four Points Sheraton in Fairview Heights.

“It is not a passive event or concert of Christmas songs,” said Maryann Totsch Hopwood, artistic director for the community theater group. “It’s a full-scale interactive event for all ages.”

Music will range from traditional and contemporary carols to amusing novelty songs, accompanied by an orchestra.

“The Spirit of Christmas” will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5 and 1 p.m. Dec. 6. Admission is $35 (half-price for children), which includes meal, dessert, soft drinks and gratuity. A cash bar is available.

Reservations are required by Tuesday at 618-409-0015. Proceeds will benefit Take A Bow, a 5-year-old group that provides free performing-arts training and theatrical opportunities for children, teens and adults.
