MLB costs you
I’m looking forward to summer and baseball as much as any St. Louis Cardinals fan, but sometimes I’ve got to shake my head at the hold Major League Baseball has over the use of logos.
I shop in Bed, Bath & Beyond a lot; I like the prices, quality and ease of purchase whether I’m in the store or buying online. When I sauntered by the glasses and stemware on Tuesday, what should my eyes light upon but some very attractive stemware with the Cards logo, as well as red and blue striping on the wine glasses. What a nice gift idea, I thought. Then I turned the stem upside down to look at the price: $29.99. What? For four? That’s not bad. But, no, that’s the price for each! I stopped a worker and asked if it was a misprint. No, she said, the price is high because it is set by MLB. I wonder how long those glasses will sit gathering dust.
Light it up
