Masterworks Chorale and Children’s Choruses will present their most popular concert of the year, “Broadway Pops!,” in two shows this weekend at Lindenwood Auditorium in Belleville.
A metro-east tradition for more than 40 years, the “Broadway Pops!” concert will feature music from “Oklahoma,” “Guys and Dolls” and “Candide,” plus hits by Duke Ellington and “The Best of Big Band Medley.”
There also will be solo performances by principal singers Jeff Ballard, a tenor, and Andrea Lair, an alto. Dr. Stephen Mager will conduct, and the choruses will be accompanied by pianist Susan Niederer and a jazz combo of professional musicians.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

That could be the call to action for those participating in the 2016 Clay Olympics from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Louis “Louie” Tiemann Gallery at 223 West Main St. in Belleville.
Teams from around the area will compete in several wacky clay events, such as blindfolded bowl, no-hands rose holder and tallest tower, vying for bragging rights as Best Potters in the Universe.
The evening is free to the public, who can purchase food and drinks provided by Hemingway’s Zen Garden in O’Fallon and listen to guitarist Roger Drinnon. A silent auction of handcrafted pottery and fine craft. Proceeds benefit the Governor French Academy art program and gallery.

Show times are 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Belle-Clair Fairgrounds, 200 South Belt East.
Admission is $6; free for children under 12; $1 off for seniors 65 and older and firefighters, police officers, military, medical professionals an education faculty. You can save $1 by donating a can of food, toiletry item or other household necessity. Donations will benefit the Community Interfaith Food Pantry, Faith Baptist Food Pantry and the Violence Prevention Center.
