Nine-year-old loves life, wants a family to love her

Yaendi would like to join a loving family.
Yaendi would like to join a loving family.

Yaendi is a young girl who enjoys life, according to Holly Kieu, recruiter for the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition.

Here is what Holly said about her:

“This 9-year-old would love to have a family she can call her own. Yaendi says she would like to be with a family who is active and likes to have fun! Yaendi is energetic, playful, and thoughtful. With a social personality, she enjoys school and interacting with her peers.”

There are almost 500 children like Yaendi in St. Clair County in need of loving foster families. Children in foster care stay with their foster homes temporarily until they can safely return to their biological families. Sometimes safe return is not possible and children may need an adoptive placement. Social workers are seeking an adoptive family for Yaendi. She would benefit from a loving, patient, and nurturing family who will provide her with a structured and stable environment.

Before accepting children into their home, foster parents must complete a licensing process. The process takes approximately six months to complete and includes in-home visits with a worker, background checks, medical examinations, and training. Foster parents receive a monthly assistance of $418-$511 to help care for the child’s needs. Daycare assistance for children under the age of 13 is also provided as well as the child’s medical, dental, and prescription costs.
