St. Louis man, Edwardsville woman face felony charges in separate cases

A St. Louis man was charged Tuesday with multiple counts of identity theft after authorities said he had another man's identification documents.

The 48-year-old man was charged July 7 with four counts of identity theft, all Class 3 felonies.

The Edwardsville Police Department presented the case.

According to court documents, between Feb. 1 and March 31, the man was in possession of another man's driver's license and birth certificate, which he used to apply for a job at World Wide Technology LLC.

The man was ordered released from custody.

Edwardsville woman faces multiple retail theft charges

A 66-year-old Edwardsville woman was charged July 7 with four counts of retail theft under $300, second or subsequent offense, all Class 4 felonies.

Each count was cited in a separate charging document.

A 39-year-old Glen Carbon man also was charged in one of those cases with retail theft under $300, second or subsequent offense, a Class 4 felony.

The Edwardsville Police Department presented the case.

According to court documents, on June 16, the two suspects took a pair of shoes, a pair of slippers and two hats from Famous Footwear, 2306 Troy Road, Edwardsville.

On June 2, the woman took shorts from Old Navy, 6617 Edwardsville Crossing; multiple items from Dierbergs, 6671 Edwardsville Crossing Drive; and several lipsticks from CVS, 126 S. Buchanan St., Edwardsville, according to court documents.

The Edwardsville woman and Glen Carbon man were ordered released from custody.

These individuals have only been charged and remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. All charges may not be reported.
