Will metro-east grocery, liquor stores close early for Fourth of July? When to shop

Independence Day is Friday, and the metro-east has several fireworks shows on the calendar. But will your regular grocery store be open for normal hours on the holiday to pick up supplies?

For those who need to mail a package or letter, the U.S. Postal Service will be closed Friday in observance of the holiday.

The National Weather Service St. Louis office forecasts Belleville will see temperatures ranging from 73 to 93 degrees Fahrenheit this Fourth of July, and the night should be “partly cloudy.” As if Tuesday, the forecast does not call for rain.

Here’s what to know before heading out for cookout supplies or your regular grocery shopping Friday.

Aldi

All Aldi stores, including Belleville’s location, will close early at 4 p.m. for the Fourth of July. Belleville’s store will open at 8:30 a.m. that day.

Sam’s Club

The Sam’s Club in O’Fallon will close early for the Fourth of July. Hours for regular Club members will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Plus members can shop early, beginning at 8 a.m.

All Schnucks locations are open normal business hours for Independence Day. The store at 800 Carlyle Ave. in Belleville will be open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
