St. Clair County announces its third coronavirus-related death

A man in his 70s has become the latest victim of coronavirus in St. Clair County.

The county health department announced Thursday that the man was the third person to die from complications of COVID-19 in the county. He had underlying health conditions, the department said.

The department previously announced the deaths of two patients who tested positive for COVID-19. One woman was in her 80s and the other was in her 30s. Both of them had underlying health conditions.

In total, there were 53 positive cases confirmed in the county as of Thursday afternoon. The health department reported that 422 people had been tested in the county, and that there were 142 pending results.
