There were a total of 998 coronavirus cases in the metro-east as of Sunday, an increase from 963 on Saturday.
During the state’s daily COVID-19 news conference Sunday, officials announced 2,126 new cases and 59 additional deaths. The announcement brings the statewide total of positive coronavirus cases to 43,903 and the total number of deaths to 1,933.
