Latest information on coronavirus outbreaks at residential facilities in St. Clair County

The St. Clair County Health Department on Wednesday announced another place experiencing a coronavirus outbreak, bringing the total residential facilities with known or suspected COVID-19 patients to 10.

TDL, Inc. in Belleville was added to the list Wednesday. The health department also announced another death at Four Fountains in Belleville.

A total of 26 deaths have been reported out of those St. Clair County facilities, which is about half of the 53 deaths countywide.

Here is the latest information on known or suspected COVID-19 patients, either because of a test result or their symptoms, at the facilities, according to the St. Clair County Health Department:

Once a week, the Illinois Department of Public Health also publishes data on long-term care facilities with outbreaks statewide at dph.illinois.gov/covid19/long-term-care-facility-outbreaks-covid-19. The information published online is what was submitted to the state by health departments and laboratories a day earlier.

Generally, data from health departments is more up-to-date and includes higher totals than the Illinois Department of Public Health’s website.

However, the state’s delayed data included 20 COVID-19 patients at BRIA of Belleville five days before the St. Clair County Health Department reported that number Wednesday. A spokesperson for the health department did not immediately respond to a Belleville News-Democrat inquiry about the discrepancy on Tuesday afternoon. At the time, the health department was still reporting 12 patients at BRIA of Belleville as it had done since April 20.

This is the information from the state’s Friday, May 1, update on known or suspected COVID-19 patients elsewhere in the metro-east:

  • Edwardsville Care Center - 90 patients and 15 deaths
  • Carlyle HealthCare Center - 63 patients and four deaths
  • Garden Place Columbia - 34 patients and 10 deaths
  • Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon - 20 patients and one death
  • Heritage Health in Macoupin County - Seven patients
  • Oak Hill in Monroe County - Three patients
  • Cedarhurst of Sparta - Two patients
  • Coulterville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center - Two patients
