Illinois health officials report more than 4,000 new cases of COVID-19 statewide
Illinois has 4,014 new COVID-19 cases and 142 more deaths, health officials announced Tuesday.
The announcement by the Illinois Department of Public Health brings the statewide total of coronavirus cases to 83,021 and the total number of deaths to 3,601.
The number of cases announced Tuesday is the single greatest daily increase in statewide numbers since the pandemic began.
