Number of coronavirus cases in southwestern Illinois reaches 2,034

A total of 2,037 people in southwestern Illinois have tested positive for COVID-19 and 146 people have died, health officials reported Tuesday.

Madison County announced one new death on Tuesday, a female in her 80s. The county did not release details on whether or not the patient had underlying health conditions.
