Latest coronavirus numbers for southern Illinois include two new deaths in St. Clair
Local health departments reported Tuesday that the number of coronavirus cases in southwestern Illinois has reached 2,598, and the number of deaths has increased to 199.
St. Clair County officials announced the deaths of a woman in her 90s and a woman in her 80s, both with underlying health conditions.
Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health said Monday that 1,614 additional people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 113 people died in the previous 24 hours.
Illinois has seen a total of 5,525 deaths during the pandemic, officials reported. A total of 122,848 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
