Illinois surpasses 1 million COVID-19 tests administered and 125,000 total cases
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced Friday that 1,156 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 59 more people have died.
Illinois has seen a total of 5,795 deaths during the pandemic, officials reported. A total of 125,915 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
An additional 18,903 have been tested for the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of administered tests to 1,000,919, IDPH said in a news release.
Illinois moved into Phase 3 of Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s Restore Illinois reopening plan May 29.
