St. Clair County reports one new coronavirus-related death
The number of coronavirus cases in southwestern Illinois has reached 2,810, and the number of deaths has increased to 209, local health officials reported Sunday.
St. Clair County announced one new death, a woman in her 80s with underlying health conditions.
Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health said 867 additional people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 43 more people died in the previous 24 hours.
Illinois has seen a total of 5,904 deaths during the pandemic, officials reported. A total of 127,757 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, while more than 1 million people have been tested for COVID-19.
