St. Clair County reports four additional coronavirus-related deaths

St. Clair County reported four additional coronavirus-related deaths and 17 new confirmed cases of the virus Monday.

County officials reported two women in their 80s, one woman in her 70s and one woman in her 90s died due to coronavirus-related complications. All of the patients had underlying health conditions, according to county officials.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health said 658 additional people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 23 more people died in the previous 24 hours.

Illinois has seen a total of 5,924 deaths during the pandemic, officials reported. A total of 128,415 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, while more than 1 million people have been tested for COVID-19.
