St. Clair, Randolph counties report new coronavirus deaths
Health department officials in St. Clair and Randolph counties on Tuesday each announced new coronavirus deaths.
The St. Clair County Health Department reported two people died: a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s. Both persons had underlying health conditions.
The county has had 112 COVID-19 deaths this year.
Randolph County said one person died but did not release details about this case. Six COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in Randolph County.
In the region, counties have reported 217 deaths since the pandemic began and 2,867 postive cases.
Statewide, 797 new coronavirus cases and 95 more virus-related deaths have been reported, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced Tuesday.
The new cases bring Illinois’ total to 129,212 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began. There have been a total of 6,018 deaths in the state.
Laboratories have performed more than 1 million coronavirus tests statewide, with 20,309 of them recorded since Monday.
