No new deaths, 46 new COVID-19 cases reported by southwestern Illinois counties
One day after reporting just 20 new cases of COVID-19, metro-east counties reported 46 new cases of the virus Wednesday.
St. Clair County reported 30 new cases, while Madison County officials reported 15 confirmed cases. However, no new deaths were reported in the region.
Elsewhere in southwestern Illinois, Monroe County reported one new COVID-19 case.
Statewide, 546 new coronavirus cases and 87 more virus-related deaths have been reported, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced Wednesday.
The new cases bring Illinois’ total to 1314,185 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began. There have been a total of 6,485 deaths in the state.
Laboratories have performed 1,258,328 coronavirus tests statewide, with 29,987 of them recorded since Tuesday.
