Three counties in southwestern Illinois report new coronavirus cases over the weekend
Three counties in southwestern Illinois reported 76 new positive cases of coronavirus over the weekend.
Officials in St. Clair, Madison and Jersey counties announced the latest numbers on Sunday. There have been no regional deaths due to COVID-19 since June 16.
Statewide, the Illinois Department of Health department on Sunday reported 658 new cases of the virus had been confirmed, and there were an additional 23 deaths.
Illinois has seen a total of 6,647 deaths during the pandemic, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported. A total of 136,762 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, while more than 1.3 million people have been tested for COVID-19.
