St. Clair, Madison counties have no new COVID-19 deaths, but announce 40 new cases
St. Clair County reported no new deaths and 25 new cases during the county’s daily COVID-19 news conference Friday.
Madison County officials, meanwhile, reported 15 new cases and no new deaths. Monroe County also reported three new cases, while Perry County and Macoupin County each anounced one new case.
Overall, the region saw 45 new cases Friday but no new COVID-19-related deaths.
Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health on Friday reported 857 new cases of the virus had been confirmed with 39 additional deaths.
Illinois has seen a total of 6,847 deaths during the pandemic as of Friday, officials reported. A total of 140,291 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, while nearly 1.5 million people have been tested for COVID-19, including 30,425 since Thursday.
