St. Clair County reports lowest number of coronavirus hospitalizations since April 15

St. Clair County has reported its lowest number of hospitalizations for coronavirus-positive patients since April 15.

The news was announced during the county’s daily COVID-19 news conference.

Overall on Thursday, the region saw a total of 28 new coronavirus cases in St. Clair and Madison counties. No counties reported new virus-related deaths.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Health department reported 849 new cases of the virus had been confirmed with 41 additional deaths.

Illinois has seen a total of 6,810 deaths during the pandemic as of Thursday, officials reported. A total of 139,434 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, while more than 1.4 million people have been tested for COVID-19.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY
