St. Clair County hosting multiple COVID-19 community testing sites
The St. Clair County Health Department, in cooperation with Illinois Department of Public Health, will offer COVID-19 drive-thru testing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, and Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Southwestern Illinois College.
Adults and children 6 months of age and older can be tested and tests are performed by a nasal swab. Participants, must provide a valid phone number. Each patient will be notified by phone of their results by IDPH, which may take up to a week to receive. Masks are required.
In addition, the St. Clair County Health Department, in cooperation with Southern Illinois Health Foundation, will conduct COVID-19 testing from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Okaw Valley Park in New Athens.
Adults and children over 3 years of age can be tested and tests are performed by a throat swab. Please bring photo identification and insurance card. Testing with or without insurance is at no cost. Each patient will be notified by the St. Clair County Health Department of their results, which may take up to a week to receive. Masks are required.
More testing sites will be announced at a later date.

The IDPH also offers free walk-up and drive-thru COVID-19 testing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, seven days a week or until they meet their capacity for per day testing at the Jackie Joyner Kersee Center in East St. Louis.
